Located in an alley near the Yeh Shih-Tao Memorial Museum, walking through the alley into the hall feels like being isolated from the world, very tranquil. Zexian Hall's architecture is well-preserved in an antique style, with white walls inlaid with natural wood-colored doors and windows, and adorned with some green ventilation tiles. The furnishings inside the hall also maintain their traditional appearance. Although it has undergone several renovations since its construction in 1879, its exterior has not deviated much from its original form. It is a vegetarian hall of the Xiantiandao (先天道) sect of Buddhism, and is now presided over by Buddhist monastics.
