Located between Tainan Railway Station and Tainan Park, Xihua Hall can be described as a hidden gem in the bustling area. Passing through the busy main road and entering a small alley, it feels like arriving in another tranquil world. Founded in 1750, Xihua Hall is a vegetarian hall under the Weng Yongfeng branch of the Jin Chuang sect of the vegetarian tradition. It primarily enshrines the Three Jewels Buddha, and many devout followers still reside and practice here. The serene and solemn atmosphere brings a sense of peace to visitors. Despite its nearly 300-year history, the architecture of Xihua Hall is remarkably well-preserved. The central hall, corridors, and eaves all evoke a sense of stepping back in time. If you visit Tainan, before rushing to find local snacks after leaving the train station, come and witness this perfect example of the coexistence of the city and ancient heritage.
