Remains of Fort Zeelandia (Inner Wall of Anping Fort). In 1622, the Dutch built "Fort Orange", which was completed in 1640 and renamed "Fort Zeelandia". There were two levels above ground. The upper level had bastions at each of the four corners, with north, east, and south gates between the bastions. The lintel of the north gate was inscribed with "T'CASTEEL ZEELDIA GEBOUWED ANNO 1634" (Fort Zeelandia built in 1634). The lower level also had bastions at the four corners, with semi-circular bastions in the center of each side of the platform, and a well in the center of each semi-circular bastion.
