Wutiao Harbor Cultural Park can be said to be the area with the richest historical texture in Tainan's Central West District. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Taijiang gradually silted up, but there were still five river channels that led from the seaside to the prefectural city. The areas around the five river harbors became busy commercial centers, which were the prototype of the current Central West District of Tainan City. The five river harbors from north to south are Xingangqian Harbor, Fotou Harbor, Nanshi Harbor, Nanhe Harbor, and Anhai Harbor. The area is roughly south of Chenggong Road, west of Xinmei Street, and south to around Zhongzheng Road. Looking at the current landscape, there is no trace of the river harbors at that time. Only from the locations of Shuixian Temple, Kaiji Wumiao Temple, and Beishi Street, as well as Fengshen Temple, can the traces of the river harbors in Wutiao Harbor Cultural Park be roughly explored. The prosperity and complete disappearance of the river harbors took only about a hundred years, but it laid the foundation for the commercial center of the prefectural city. It can only be said that the world has changed dramatically, which is quite legendary.
