Dong'an Fang Cultural Park. Dong'an Fang is centered around Dongmen City, encompassing historic churches, the City God Temple, and the Dongyue Temple within its area. East of Dongmen City was an important settlement for Western churches when they first arrived in Tainan. Tainan Theological College and Seminary, Taiwan's first university; Sin Lau Hospital, Taiwan's first modern hospital; Chang Jung Christian Junior College and Chang Jung Girls' Senior High School, Taiwan's first middle school and girls' middle school; and the Taiwan Church News Agency are all located in this area. West of Dongmen City are the Dongyue Temple and the City God Temple, which preside over the underworld, in the area of present-day Minquan Road and Qingnian Road. Due to religious beliefs, this area remains predominantly focused on industries related to traditional folk beliefs.
