The numerous water caltrop fields around it often see farmers paddling small boats, a scene that has become one of the New Nanying Eight Scenic Spots, "Lingxiang Zhouying" (Water Caltrop Fragrance and Boat Shadows). The pheasant-tailed jacana, known as the "fairy of the waves," also thrives in the well-preserved ecosystem. Whenever you take the High-Speed Rail into Tainan, you will surely see the red suspension bridge over the lake, extending like the arc of a water caltrop amidst the croaking frogs and the scenic lake.
