Yantian Yongzhen Temple was originally located in Nanliao of Anshun Salt Field. It was built in 1952. The temple's name combines "Yong" from its ancestral temple Beimen Yonglong Temple and "Zhen" from the Sea-Suppressing Marshal of Sicao Dazhong Temple, thus named Yantian "Yongzhen Temple." In the 1990s, in conjunction with the development of the Tainan Technology Industrial Park and ecological protection, the village of Yantian was relocated to its current site. Yongzhen Temple then celebrated its completion and enthronement ceremony at the present location in September 2005.
