This is because the statue of Wu Hui Zun Wang has a red face, and in the early days, people often referred to him as "Hong Zugong" (Red Ancestor) in Taiwanese Hokkien. Over time, it was mistakenly passed down as "Hong Zugong," leading to the misunderstanding that Wu Hui Zun Wang's surname was Hong. This is a small, interesting story. Outside the temple, a stone tablet is also worshipped. Mazu indicated that the stone tablet had achieved enlightenment and should be worshipped with incense, adding a special "Stone Grandpa" to Yancheng Tianhou Temple.
