Because there is the Putuo Zen Temple on the lake shore, which enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva of the South Sea, this clear lake water is called Little South Sea. The spanning Little South Sea Suspension Bridge connects the Zen temple and the ecological park, forming a 5-kilometer lakeside scenic trail suitable for walking and cycling. The trees on both sides are lush and green, so even in summer, the trail feels cool and comfortable due to the shade. The natural cycle of trees and water also makes the air here as pure as a South Sea paradise. During the lotus season, the surrounding fields are filled with blooming lotuses, making it one of the important areas for lotus viewing in Baihe. The Little South Sea scenic area is also equipped with a well-planned bicycle path that connects to the Orchid Biological Science Park, Linchupi Kapok Trail, or Wushulin, among other places. The bicycle path connecting the surrounding attractions has also sparked a trend of low-carbon cycling tours here, making it a scenic area that combines both sports and leisure.
