After expansion, it was renamed Mituo Temple and became one of the seven temples and eight shrines in the prefectural city. In 1858 AD, merchants and devotees in the prefectural city jointly donated a large bell. During World War II, the temple was destroyed in an air raid, and the bell was almost confiscated by the Japanese army to be melted down for weapons.
