Yancheng Beiji Temple. Built in 1684 AD, worshipping Xuan Tian Shang Di. Its historical evolution is closely related to the early local salt field culture. In the early days, Yancheng residents transported the harvested salt from 'Pangang' near Beiji Temple to Anping and other places. Although the river port is no longer visible, the intricate network of streets near the temple still offers a glimpse of its past. The grand temple fair procession, held once every 12 years, roughly follows the course of the ancient river depicted on old maps, further highlighting its connection to the salt production history. By tracing the historical context of the old Yancheng port through local beliefs, it echoes the saying, 'Beigang Mazu, Nancang Shangdi Gong'.
