Mingzhi Palace primarily enshrines Zhongtan Yuanshuai, commonly known as the Third Prince. The temple was built during the Yongli period of the Ming Dynasty, and its construction is filled with legendary tales. It is said that at that time, residents living near Jiyu Pond saw a piece of wood floating upstream against the current. Thousands of grasshoppers followed the wood, and driven by curiosity, they followed it until the wood stopped at the shore. The grasshoppers still did not leave. The wood had seven holes. While they were puzzled, someone suddenly passed by and recited: "I am the Prince, obeying the imperial decree to save the world and bless the villagers. I hope the villagers will build a temple to worship me." The origin of the temple's construction is still enthusiastically recounted by local elders today. The driftwood was used to carve the statue of Zhongtan Yuanshuai, which has been enshrined to this day.
