In front of the temple stands a pair of flagpoles, with dragons and tigers facing each other. According to the organization of the divine realm in Taiwanese folk beliefs, similar to ancient imperial politics, any deity who has been enfeoffed by the Jade Emperor as an Emperor or King can erect flagpoles according to the old imperial examination system to display their majesty. The Two Prefecture Thousand-Year Lords of this temple belong to the 'King' rank and are naturally qualified to erect flags. Having been enfeoffed by the Jade Emperor as the Seven Patrol Kings acting on behalf of Heaven, they possess great prestige and authority. Therefore, their flagtops can be made in three sets, with a height of 6 zhang and 6 chi, making them the tallest pair in Taiwan and the only ones made of cement.
