In 1985, the old factory buildings, unable to withstand the pressures of the times and environmental concerns, were slated for demolition. However, the preservation of two towering chimneys, an octagonal kiln, three down-draft kilns, an experimental kiln, a tunnel kiln, and the Japanese colonial era brick office building, among other equipment, transformed it into a living museum of brick kiln history. It not only bears witness to the trajectory of industrial economic development over the past century but also offers valuable examples of architectural aesthetics through the structure, texture, and brick decorations of its red brick buildings. Consequently, it was successively designated as a municipal and national historic site after 2003, becoming Kaohsiung's first historic cultural park.
