The main building is a Western-style building from the Japanese colonial era, featuring red brick walls, arched facades, and striking green window frames. The engine room and maintenance workshop have large-span wooden structures that can accommodate modern pumping equipment. The architectural style is influenced by early 20th-century European modern design, making it unique. In addition to providing abundant irrigation water for agriculture in Dashu District, the pumping station was the heart of the earliest tap water system supplying the Kaohsiung area. It is a revolutionary and universal architectural engineering feat in the history of Kaohsiung's urban development and has been designated as a municipal-level historic site.
