To maintain and promote this precious traditional art, the Shadow Puppetry Museum, renovated inside and out, reopened in Gangshan in 2013 with a brand-new look. The exterior of the museum features a unique leather weaving style, with intertwined pure white lines creating different light and shadow effects day and night. The magnificent mosaic shadow puppet murals also leave a deep impression on visitors. The interior is divided into six themed areas: "Learning Classroom," "Exhibition Area," "Archive Room," "Theater," "Digital Shadow Theater," and "Experience Area." The interactive guided tours balance traditional preservation with modern technological development. With regular monthly performances, visitors can enjoy simple, traditional opera performances on the original ox-cart stage, or savor the exquisite and enchanting leather carving collection in the museum, allowing this delicate traditional craft to continue to flourish in Kaohsiung.
