Teacher Tseng Wen-Chung is a renowned oil and watercolor painter. He grew up in the Tseng family's traditional Hakka house on Yong'an Old Street and has a deep affection for Meinong's local customs, beautiful scenery, and architecture. He has created hundreds of paintings in his Meinong hometown series and Kaohsiung series, capturing the picturesque landscapes of his hometown, as beautiful as a Peach Blossom Spring. He has also generously donated large-scale artworks to government cultural units and schools to promote art education and inspire students. Tseng Wen-Chung has a special fondness for traditional Hakka houses. Concerned that the uniquely beautiful and well-designed houses were gradually disappearing due to disrepair, he worked tirelessly to preserve and revitalize them. In 2000, he finally rebuilt his ancestral home on Yong'an Street into a spacious modern art gallery, establishing the "Tseng Wen-Chung Museum of Art" here. The museum exhibits works by himself and other artists, and also serves as a venue for art and literary lectures. He also encourages his neighbors in the Yong'an Street traditional houses to preserve, document, and exhibit Hakka cultural relics and history, and to establish a cluster of traditional house art museums, ensuring that Hakka heritage can be passed down through generations.
