Located in Tong'an Village, Anchuo Village, Ziguang District, the Zhang Family Ancestral House was built during the Qing Dynasty and is the best-preserved and most complete Min-style siheyuan residence in Ziguang District. Located in Tong'an Village, Anchuo Village, Ziguang District, the Zhang Family Ancestral House was built during the Qing Dynasty and is the best-preserved and most complete Min-style siheyuan residence in Ziguang District. Most of the residents of Tong'an Village migrated from Tong'an, Fujian during the Zheng Chenggong era and settled in the fertile Ziguang Plain. The Zhang family's ancestral house, a "nine-bay, five-bay" siheyuan mansion, represents the family's wealth and prosperity. The ancestral house is a relatively rare two-courtyard red-tiled and red-brick building, complete with extended rooms and wing rooms. The horse-head walls and bird-walks on the roof, as well as the window grilles, have beautiful lines. The lintel of the main hall bears the characters "Mei Kui" (Plum Blossom Champion), and the antique lamps in the hall evoke a sense of historical sentiment. The intricate wooden carved window lattices and colorful decorations allow us to imagine the elegant and luxurious lifestyle of the mansion's owner in those days.
