The new Cishan Bridge was designed with the concept of a single-pylon cable-stayed bridge with landmark scenery. The bridge is 535 meters long and 22 meters wide. It uses large-span cantilever construction to reduce piers and is adorned with 13 pairs of symmetrical stay cables, with a design that incorporates the imagery of banana baskets from Meinong and Cishan. After its opening at the end of 2010, the bridge with its elegant structural lines blends into the beautiful and natural Qiewei Mountain and Nanzixian River.
