Fengshan County Old City. Established during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Fengshan County Old City is located in the present-day Zuoying District. It was the first county seat of Fengshan County after the Qing government took control of Taiwan, and it is also Taiwan's first earthen city wall. However, due to frequent banditry and difficulty in defense, the new city was rebuilt in the Daoguang period (1862) by mobilizing officials and civilians at the original site of the old city, creating Taiwan's first sturdy stone city, which is the Fengshan County Old City in Zuoying today.
