The earliest plaque in the temple, "Nanyun Dongzhao," is dated to the 25th year of the Qianlong era, suggesting the temple's construction dates back to the early Qianlong period. Despite several renovations, it has preserved a rich and complete traditional temple architectural style and craftsmanship, serving as an artistic hall for traditional artisans. The temple retains many colorful decorations and intricately carved beams and painted rafters. Among these, the most notable are the painted dragon and tiger panels on the courtyard walls, created by the Tainan artisan Ye Zong after World War II. In earlier times, people from Fengshan often brought their children and grandchildren to Longshan Temple to be taken as "godchildren" by Guanyin, hoping for her compassionate blessings. They would seek incense pouches and peace cakes.
