Kaohsiung Literary Museum. The Kaohsiung Literary Museum is located within Central Park in the heart of Kaohsiung City, adjacent to the renowned "Love River" promenade. The Kaohsiung Literary Museum is situated within Central Park in the heart of Kaohsiung City, adjacent to the renowned "Love River" promenade. The building itself was established in 1954 and originally served as the first library in Kaohsiung after the war, later becoming the second main library in 1997. It wasn't until 2003 that the government, in an effort to promote local literature, renamed it the first literary museum in Taiwan named after a city. The nameplate was personally inscribed by the writer Ye Shitao. It officially began its mission of preserving, collecting, and promoting Kaohsiung literature and was approved as a "Local Cultural Center" by the Council for Cultural Affairs in 2006.
