Snake Head Mountain was formed differently from Dragon Head Mountain; it is connected to the hills behind the snake's head by the accumulation of soil and rock from a landslide, forming the current landscape that closely resembles the head of a hundred-pace viper, complementing Dragon Head Mountain on either side. The separation of the dragon's head and spine visible today on Dragon Head Mountain is the result of deliberate blasting during the Japanese colonial era to alter the water flow and facilitate local transportation. This natural wonder, resembling a giant dragon spitting a pearl, is due to meandering rivers and entrenched meander topography. Viewed from above, it looks like a giant dragon coiled in the valley, offering a spectacular sight.
