[Evaluation Valid Period: 2025/05/06~2028/05/05][Excellent Valid Period: 2013/10/09~2016/10/08] The Taoyuan Distillery was formed by the merger of the Taipei Distillery (1921), Banqiao Distillery (1937), and Shulin Distillery (1906), which have nearly a century of history. It officially began mass production in the spring of 1987. The original three distilleries each had different product and cultural characteristics. After the merger, it developed into the largest rice wine production facility in northern Taiwan with the most modern equipment. Since its establishment, the Taoyuan Distillery has primarily produced Shaoxing wine. In 1996, it utilized the original Shaoxing wine production equipment to brew Japanese sake, successfully launching "Yuchuan Sake," making it the only distillery in Taiwan to produce Japanese sake. In 2004, to address the issue of sake lees byproducts, it developed the "T.L.C. Sake Lees Mask" product, positioned as a natural skincare ingredient, which was very popular at the time and was dubbed "Poor Man's SK-II." In 2005, it innovated again by combining Eastern red yeast rice with Western wine to launch "Yuchuan Red Yeast Rice Wine," a health-conscious product tailored to Taiwanese tastes. It has been widely loved by the public and is the wine brand with the highest market share in Taiwan. The Taoyuan Distillery is not only dedicated to the research and development of various alcoholic beverages but also to its production methods.
