The entire structure was designed by the founder, Mr. Chen, a glove expert. The museum also incorporates many personal creations, allowing visitors to not only learn about the glove industry but also appreciate different forms of art. The surrounding guava orchards and the circular high-speed rail line can be viewed from the third-floor observation deck. Interactive DIY activities allow visitors to understand the basic glove-making process. The founder, Mr. Chen Yi-yi, was born in Yilan and graduated from Fu-Hsing Kang School of Arts and Trades. His first job after graduation was as an art designer at the then major glove manufacturer, "Li Chuan Company." He later moved up to R&D team leader, production section chief, and eventually factory manager. He then took over the factory and its existing employees to establish "Yi Zhan Company." In 1977, he obtained his first glove invention patent in Taiwan and the United States (Shark Ski Gloves - the concept for this pair of gloves inspired the entire museum building). In 1984, he wrote the only professional glove book currently available, "GLOVE INDUSTRY," which was highly praised and studied by glove industry professionals worldwide.
