Later, it began to invest in the production of modern concentrated Chinese herbal medicine, becoming a pioneer in the development of concentrated Chinese medicine (scientific Chinese medicine) in Taiwan. In 1966, large-scale, integrated production of high-quality concentrated Chinese herbal medicine began at the Zhonghe factory site. In 1976, GMP concepts were first introduced. In 1986, it became the first pharmaceutical factory in the country to pass the software evaluation for Chinese medicine GMP, as inspected and assessed by the Department of Health. In 2000, it invested three billion NT dollars to establish a Chinese herbal medicine industry-academia-research-education park in Zhongli. With a scientific spirit, advanced equipment, and strict quality control requirements, it continuously innovates. Its products in various dosage forms have been widely recognized by the medical and pharmaceutical industries and are marketed worldwide. In 2018, it passed the strict PIC/S GMP inspection certification by Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). In 2020, to allow more people to understand Chinese herbal medicine, the Sheng Chang Chinese Herbal Medicine Exploration Hall was established to pass on Chinese herbal medicine culture and knowledge to the public. The Sheng Chang Chinese Herbal Medicine Exploration Hall is divided into five sections: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. The hall displays over a hundred types of Chinese herbal materials and uses interactive multimedia and touch-screen process mini-games to spark people's interest.
