Umbrella Xinye Company was founded in Taoyuan City in 1984. Initially, it mainly manufactured affordable umbrellas. Taking advantage of the peak period of the domestic umbrella manufacturing industry, it shifted to mainland China for its low labor costs to meet the large order demands. A factory was established in Xingning County, Guangdong Province, mainland China in 1988, and another factory was relocated to Longgang District, Shenzhen in 1991. However, the head office has always remained rooted in Taiwan. After 1990, it gradually shifted to export. In 1992, it transformed into an OEM factory, turning ordinary umbrellas into "works of art." It dared to research and innovate, insisted on quality, and began to produce high-end ladies' umbrellas, serving as an OEM for internationally renowned luxury brands such as LV, HERMES, GUCCI, Burberry, FENDI, and Yves Saint Laurent (YSL). In 2009, it transitioned to an OBM factory, creating its own brand P+5, and later introduced advanced coatings from DuPont, Germany, to manufacture top-tier umbrellas with 99.99% light-blocking capability. In 2014, the Chinese factory was closed and relocated back to Taiwan. To polish the image of "Made in Taiwan" as a luxury brand and to respond to the "salmon returning home" initiative, Chairman Li Ming-chih moved all mainland China factories back to Taiwan. A factory was established in Dayuan District, Taoyuan in 2016.
