Siu-ku-lan River, approximately 104 kilometers long, originates from the Central Mountain Range and is the largest river in eastern Taiwan, cutting through the Coastal Mountain Range before flowing into the sea. The river's long-term cutting and erosion have carved out many steep canyons, creating landforms such as meanders and river terraces. It has sculpted the sedimentary rocks on both sides of the mountains into ever-changing scenery. The giant rock formations, commonly known as "Emperor Stones," are as white as jade with patterns like paintings, earning the river the nickname "Jade Washed by the River.".
