Moon Cave. Moon Cave is located in Fengbin Township, Hualien County, about 1 kilometer south of Shiti Ping and near Gangkou Village. It is a natural stalactite cave and a sacred place in the eyes of the indigenous people of the Gangkou tribe. The lake water rises and falls with the waxing and waning of the moon, hence the name "Moon Cave," also known as "Moon Well." Legend has it that the lake is home to many eels, including one weighing over 10 kilograms, known as the "thousand-year eel."
