Xīwèi Lǐ Tǎjiān — The Xīwèi Tǎjiān is located on the intertidal zone along the coast of Xīwèi Village. It is an area where local residents collect shellfish and seaweed. In the early days, due to the strong currents flowing towards the Tongliang Cross-Sea Bridge, residents worried about adverse effects on the village, so they built a tower to control the water and absorb negative energy. It is also adjacent to Xīwèi Fishing Harbor and serves to protect fishing boats entering and leaving the sea. Originally a seven-story basalt pointed tower, it has been renovated twice to its current nine stories (including the finial), hence local residents also call it the Nine-Story Pagoda.
