Wai'an Village · Sanxian Pagoda. Wai'an Village Sanxian Pagoda is divided into East and West Sanxian Pagodas, totaling two locations. Wai'an Village Sanxian Pagoda is divided into East and West Sanxian Pagodas, totaling two locations. The East Sanxian Pagoda has been covered by surrounding Leucaena leucocephala, while the West Sanxian Pagoda is located on the west side of the village, standing on a cliff. Several small bunkers and a brick kiln are nearby. The location offers a commanding view of the entire Wai'an Village. It is said that the east and west hills of Wai'an Village face each other. The early settlers believed that the eastern hill extended shorter to the south. Based on the principle of 'male on the left, female on the right,' and considering that Wai'an Village was primarily a fishing village in its early days, male fishermen often encountered shipwrecks. They attributed this to the inherent geographical environment of the settlement. Following the instructions of Lord Wen, three stone pagodas were built on the east and west hills. The east pagoda faces southwest, and the west pagoda faces north-south. One direction signifies extending the lifespan of males, while the other aims to shorten the lifespan of females, achieving the function of equal lifespans for both genders. The location of the Sanxian Pagoda is the highest point in Wai'an Village, offering a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery. As the sun sets, it adds more color.
