The Yangming Miaota seen today was rebuilt in the 60th year of the Republic of China following Zhenwu Emperor's instructions. The exact year of construction is unknown. Notably, Yangming Miaota is the only stone pagoda in Penghu with a rain-gathering function. Legend has it that during prolonged droughts, inserting the plant commonly known as 'big green grass' onto the stone pagoda would result in timely rainfall a few days later, allowing the villagers' crops to grow. The pagoda is located at the first star of the 'Seven Stars' geography, hence its name 'Seven Stars Pagoda'. The view from its location is excellent, offering a panoramic view of the Qingluo Sand Spit and Yuzi, guaranteed to leave visitors lingering.
