The aquarium features a touch pool, fish pecking at vegetables, and exciting feeding shows in the main ocean tank every morning and afternoon, where you can witness the interesting interactions between aquarists and marine life. The two-story building, constructed with gray-white walls and turquoise roof tiles, is the Penghu Aquarium, located in Qitou Village, Baisha Township, Penghu. It was expanded from the original Fisheries Research Institute. The aquarium is divided into exhibition areas such as coastal ecology, reef pools, and main ocean tank ecology. The most eye-catching feature is the 14-meter-long arched underwater tunnel, where you can stroll and admire various marine creatures. Directly opposite the aquarium entrance is a straight wave breakwater extending into the Taiwan Strait. It was originally a breeding farm built by a Japanese pearl farming company. Due to the special wave shape of the breakwater, it attracts many tourists for photos. However, if you want to take photos in the blue sea, remember to check the tide times and choose high tide to get the best shots, otherwise, you will only see a muddy tidal flat under your feet! On the east side of the aquarium is the Qitou Water Play Park, designed and built using tidal differences. It includes a tidal zone walking area, a tidal difference circular pool, and children's play facilities, allowing adults and children to observe intertidal organisms and understand tidal effects together. It is an educational and recreational area.
