After Wu Hongluo, the Commander of the Navy stationed in Penghu during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, built Penghu City, he constructed five batteries in Xiyu around 1888, and the one in Jimawan was among them. Below the battery is the Wukongding Bunker, an underground barracks built along the mountain's curve, with stepped trenches for entry and exit at both ends. Today, only remnants of the battery remain, but the bunker has been largely restored and is intact and sturdy.
