Caiyuan Leisure Fishery Area. The Penghu Pioneer Hall was formerly the "Magistrate's Residence of Penghu County," built in 1933. It served as the official residence of the Penghu Governor during the Japanese colonial era and the Magistrate of Penghu County after World War II. The Caiyuan Leisure Fishery Area is located in an inner bay southeast of Magong City. After years of development, it has become a diversified ecological park. Its area covers Shuanghu Garden, Xingren Reservoir, Caiyuan Life Memorial Park, the east side of Caiyuan Port, and the intertidal zone of Caiyuan fish farms, spanning approximately 82 hectares. As early as the Japanese colonial era, fish farms were built along the eastern coast of Caiyuan Village, and later developed gradually. Here, besides the skylark, Penghu's county bird, which can be seen all year round, winter attracts waterfowl, and even the endangered black-faced spoonbill overwinters. Ospreys, specialized in catching fish, can also be seen. Such diverse ecology is due to the Caiyuan wetland having hundreds of plant species, including mangrove plants like Aegiceras corniculatum, Aegialitis annulata, and Kandelia obovata, providing food sources for various organisms. The rich ecological resources make Caiyuan a great place for observing nature and birdwatching.
