Several days a month, the low tide occurs at night. In the dark night, guided by moonlight and the faint glow of flashlights, exploring the vast sea offers an indescribable thrill. Although visibility is lower at night compared to the clarity of the day, visiting the intertidal zone under a half-moon, gazing at the hazy, shimmering waves and the dark silhouettes of coral reefs, and listening to the gentle flow of the tide creates an unexpectedly deep romance on the moonlit beach. The Duozai Ping Intertidal Zone is located on the northwest side of Liuqiu Island, adjacent to the south side of the campsite, about 300 meters apart. The intertidal platform has a gentle terrain and is approximately 1600 meters long. To reach Duozai Ping, take the island-circling highway towards the Samaki Ecological Campsite, then descend for about 50 meters. From the campsite, as you extend outwards along the path, you can faintly see birds like the Bar-necked Dove, Chinese Bulbul, Red-tailed Shrike, and Sparrow greeting you. This area boasts wide sea-eroded reef platforms and beaches, nurturing a rich diversity of benthic organisms, including coral clusters in shallow pools, countless fish, shellfish, sea urchins, sea hares in tide pools, and intertidal creatures such as Ophiuroidea, various hermit crabs, *Pseudocentrotus depressus*, and *Sargassum taylorii*.
