It was formerly used as a military camp. Adjacent to the base are three open ditches: an unnamed ditch on the east side of Datian Village (intercepting external sewage), the Nanpu Canal branch, and the Haifeng Canal branch. This wetland primarily diverts drainage from the Datian Village East community, the Nanpu Canal branch, and the Haifeng Canal branch into Pengcun Wetland. It utilizes natural purification to reduce pollution before discharging into the Dapeng Bay Lagoon. The wetland is primarily designed for surface flow, with deep and shallow ponds creating diverse habitat spaces. To enhance treatment efficiency, a subsurface flow wetland system is added after the sedimentation pond to help remove most of the pollutants in the water. After entering, the water undergoes pre-treatment in a sedimentation pond and a media bed, then flows through a series of surface flow wetlands before reaching the outlet. The preliminary layout of the site is shown in the figure.
