The triennial Peace Ceremony of the Three Lords of the Prefecture of Sanlong Temple is a very important festival in Liuqiu Township. Every time the ceremony is held, descendants living elsewhere return with their elders and children, Liuqiu fishing boats suspend operations and return to Xiaoliuqiu, and the fishing harbor is filled with fishing boats of all sizes. The township office also holds a Wangchuan Ceremony evening party the night before the festival, with fireworks and great festivities. Men on the island, regardless of class, are all part of the Da Nian sedan chair team, while women are responsible for providing refreshments for the sedan chair team and lunch for pilgrims. Drinks are also available along the way for free use. These various rituals and teachings are the characteristics of the "Welcoming the Lords" festival on Xiaoliuqiu.
