"Cloud Light Island" is inspired by the Donggang Donglong Temple's triennial "Wangye Welcome Ceremony." It begins with the cultural practice of people "praying for their hometown," integrating local characteristics and sustainable intentions. This extends into a virtual, whimsical story and characters, and through public art, conveys the story's meaning, expressing hopes and blessings for a future of "co-prosperity" between people and the environment. "Cloud" represents reverence and blessings, "Light" represents hope and the future, and "Island" represents hometown and self. In the story's script and design direction, "Cloud Light Island" sets up four "cloud island"-like carriers, each with its own "island master." These themes and characters are inspired by the animal characteristics of the zodiac signs (Ox, Dragon, Goat, Dog) corresponding to the major Wangye Welcome Ceremony years of "Chou, Chen, Wei, Xu." They are overlaid with symbolic elements from Donggang's landscape, daily life scenes, and agricultural/fishery industries, creating straightforward, simplified, and anthropomorphic works. The story aims to introduce and invite people to visit Donggang, while also subtly hinting at the deep roots of Donggang's folk culture in in-depth tourism, marine conservation, sustainable fisheries, and friendly agriculture. "Lord Qiansui's versatile little secretary, Starman, hasn't had a vacation in over three hundred years. For a rare special leave, he decides to visit friends on Cloud Light Island, embarking on a small journey." In the story, people's long-held wishes to the starry sky transform into tiny water droplets, slowly gathering.
