It was built in 2022 and completed and opened in 2024. The entire museum is divided into five major themes: "Ocean Belief," "Thousand Year Lord's Inspection Tour," "Pingtung Inspection Tour," "Building the Divine Boat," and "Donggang Welcoming the Lords." It houses a Wang Chuan (royal boat) handcrafted by a national treasure-level local artisan. Through immersive experiences, visitors can gain a close-up understanding of the historical context and craftsmanship of the Wang Chuan. The main building, inspired by the shape of a boat and the ocean, connects to the local characteristics of Donggang and incorporates natural ventilation and shading systems to reduce energy consumption, making it a sustainable, breathing building. 1F Ocean Belief: Why send off the Lords? The immersive theater "The River of Life" unravels the historical origins of the Welcoming the Lords Peace Ritual and the Wang Chuan. Look up to see a magnificently painted and spectacular giant Wang Chuan, the same size as a small tuna fishing boat. This showcases the craftsmanship of the boat builders in Donggang and Xiaoliuqiu. The Donggang Wang Chuan fully demonstrates the unique aesthetic of the Donggang Welcoming the Lords belief compared to other regions.
