The Dazhu Lake Nature Trail, only 200 meters long, is the shortest trail along Sun Moon Lake. Entering from next to the parking lot below the highway, there is a viewing platform not far away. To the right of the viewing platform, the trail leads down to the lakeside. In the lake below the trail, there is a rumbling outlet, which is the famous special attraction of Sun Moon Lake – the Sun Moon Spring. In fact, it is the outlet of the Wujie diversion tunnel. During the Japanese occupation period, the Japanese dug an underground tunnel from Wujie Village in Ren'ai Township directly to Sun Moon Lake, diverting water from the upper reaches of the Zhuoshui River into Sun Moon Lake to serve as a stable water source for Sun Moon Lake. Waterbird Wetland – Due to long-term sediment accumulation, the area has gradually become shallow and overgrown with reeds, serving as an important habitat for fish and shrimp in the lake, as well as a habitat for egrets, night herons, and kingfishers. During the migratory season for birds, it becomes a spectacular sight with flocks of wild ducks and geese. After taking the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway up to Jibuji Mountain, you immediately cross a valley. This string of pearls-like cable draws a smiling arc in the air, with unobstructed views, making it the best route for bird's-eye views of the lake.
