The surrounding townships of NCU are a mix of rural and urban areas, bordering indigenous traditional territories, with a rich multicultural foundation. Adjacent to renowned tourist attractions such as Sun Moon Lake, the New Central Cross-Island Highway, and Hehuanshan, it has gradually developed various interdisciplinary, socially engaged innovative teaching programs that resonate with regional industrial trends, forming a unique educational characteristic of 'Deeply Cultivating Shuishalian, Welcoming Southeast Asia.' NCU is located on a plateau in the suburbs of Puli, sheltered by the Central Mountain Range, Hehuanshan, and the Snow Mountain Range. The 150-hectare campus is covered by 88% rolling grasslands and green spaces, surrounded by over 12,000 trees of 113 species, including Taiwania. The campus is adorned with cherry, plum, and osmanthus groves, and is a habitat for over 10 species of frogs and 110 species of butterflies. The curriculum integrates green energy, waste reduction, and intelligent machinery. It was ranked 51st globally and 3rd in Taiwan by the international 'Green University Ranking.' The campus boasts 700 Taiwan cherry trees and over 300 Japanese double-flowered cherry trees, blooming in the late winter and early spring of February and March each year.
