The Sun Moon Lake Cycling Trail is approximately 6.4 kilometers long. The Xiangshan section runs from Shuishe to the Xiangshan Visitor Center, connecting two important rest stops, with a total length of approximately 3.4 kilometers. Both the Xiangshan Visitor Center and the Shuishe Integrated Commercial Building have bicycle service stations. The section closest to the water, approximately 0.4 kilometers long, is built over the water, winding past homes and shops, running alongside the lake, and is known as the "Waterfront Cycling Trail." To separate cyclists and pedestrians for safety, two dedicated bridges for bicycles and pedestrians, "Yongjie" and "Tongxin," have been constructed, featuring white piers and wooden walkways. The curved bridge deck spanning the mountain gully considers riding fluidity. This area is a new highlight for wedding photography, with white piers, an artificial beach by the lake, and flower beds creating a romantic landscape. The Yue Tan section starts from the Xiangshan Administrative Center, heading south along the southern shore of Yue Tan, passing Moon Bay and Tou She Dam to the entrance of the First Huan Tan Tunnel, with a total length of approximately 3.4 kilometers. The route is accompanied by lake views, with opportunities to look south towards the Tou She Basin and north towards the Qinglong Mountain Range, making it an excellent trail for getting close to Yue Tan.
