To enhance the water experience, a hydrophilic platform is specially designed with a hollow grille board on the outer arc edge, allowing visitors to feel the coolness of the water surface's waves and mist at high water levels. Standing here, you can not only admire the floating water fields but also gaze at the distant mountain ranges such as Ci'en Pagoda, Qinglong Mountain, and Erlong Mountain. Directly above the Kowloon Estuary Grand Platform is the Kowloon Estuary, a junction for entering Shuishe or heading to Yidashao in Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake was once known as "Dragon Lake." Geomancers believed that the peninsulas extending from the surrounding mountains to the lake surface resembled living dragons diving into the water. With Lalu Island, originally named "Zhuyu" (Pearl Islet), in the center of the lake, it was described as "Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl." There are also many dragon-related place names along the lake, including Lunlongling, Qinglong Mountain, and Erlong Mountain. The place where Provincial Highway 21 enters the Sun Moon Lake area is therefore called Kowloon Estuary.
