After severe damage from the 921 earthquake, residents actively participated in community reconstruction and overall development, promoting organic black tea cultivation and successfully creating a top-tier black tea producing area with brand value. The Dayan Leisure Agriculture Area encompasses communities like Xianzhaojiao and Sheshui. This area is shrouded in mist year-round with a cool and pleasant climate, nurturing fragrant black tea and rich natural ecology. The black tea from Sheshui Community has a rich aroma, attracting many tourists to come for tea tasting and to experience tea garden life. Within the area is the famous Jinlong Mountain, with an altitude of about 820 meters, a well-known low-altitude spot in central Taiwan for watching the sunrise and sea of clouds, making it a popular destination for photography enthusiasts to capture the beauty of the dawn. In addition to tea garden experiences, the Dayan Agriculture Area actively promotes ecotourism and agricultural tour linkage activities, such as the "Watery Hundred Tea Fragrance" tour. This tour combines a leisurely stroll along the Sheshui Forest Trail, black tea tasting, exploration of fish and shrimp ecology, and passion fruit farming experience, allowing visitors to deeply appreciate rural life and the beauty of the natural ecosystem. Such activities are often held from October to December each year and are suitable for families and nature lovers. Farmers in the area insist on hand-picking tea leaves with one bud and two leaves.
