The ropeway route is approximately 1.877 kilometers long, connecting Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station on the southeastern shore of Sun Moon Lake with the Guanshan Building of Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. There are two stations in total, passing over Bujishan, allowing visitors to overlook the magnificent scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the beauty of Puli Basin from high above. The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway system was designed and manufactured by the Austrian company Doppelmayr. It has 86 cabins, each capable of carrying about 8 people. The one-way travel time is about 7 to 10 minutes, with a maximum operating speed of 6 meters per second. The highest point is 1044 meters above sea level, with tower heights of approximately 58 to 60 meters. The longest span of the ropeway is 786 meters, featuring a linear design. Solar panels are installed on top of the cabins to provide energy for the emergency broadcast system, considering both environmental and safety aspects. Among them, the "Sakura Queen" cabin is a specially designed crystal transparent cabin, hand-painted in a hand-drawn style, themed around the image of the Japanese Sakura Queen, and named and unveiled by the 30th Sakura Queen of Japan, Miori Sugiura, showcasing the deep friendship between Taiwan and Japan regarding cherry blossoms.
