The museum's mission is to preserve and promote natural lacquer craftsmanship. It displays lacquer furniture and artifacts from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and exhibits the historical evolution of Taiwan's lacquer industry and related cultural relics, making it an important site for understanding Taiwan's lacquer art culture. The museum's content is rich, featuring not only exquisite ancient lacquerware but also information on the growth of lacquer trees, the process of collecting raw lacquer, and the techniques of lacquerware production. The museum also integrates educational and experiential functions, allowing visitors to deeply learn about the cultural value and practical applications of natural lacquer, and to promote the environmental and health benefits of natural lacquer. Long Nan Natural Lacquer Museum suffered severe damage from the 1999 Jiji earthquake. Despite the difficulties, founder Mr. Xu Yu-fu mortgaged his assets to renovate the museum, persisting in preserving this traditional industry and culture, demonstrating a profound sense of mission and family dedication. Currently, the museum also sells high-quality lacquer art products and offers guided tours, allowing visitors to experience the unique charm of natural lacquer up close. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed on Mondays. Break from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Closure information is subject to on-site or official announcements.
