As boats do not travel in this area, the lake surface remains as calm as a mirror, making it considered one of Sun Moon Lake's hidden gems. A cycling path runs along the shore of Crescent Bay, offering views of rich ecosystems and diverse forest types while cycling, as well as distant views of Ci'en Pagoda, creating a pleasant landscape. Crescent Bay has a wide water area, making it the largest among all open non-powered water recreational areas in Sun Moon Lake, suitable for SUP activities. It offers different scenery from dawn to dusk. Every summer, Crescent Bay also hosts the National Rowing Championships, making water activities lively and attracting many sports enthusiasts and tourists to watch and participate. This is also where Toushe Dam is located, one of the important water diversion dams in the Sun Moon Lake hydroelectric power system. Toushe Dam and Shuishe Dam jointly intercept water sources, transforming Sun Moon Lake from a natural lake into a reservoir, significantly expanding the lake's surface area. The dam structure is stable, and the surrounding environment is naturally beautiful, making it a great place for visitors to stroll and enjoy the scenery.
