Established after the 921 earthquake in 1999, the park was jointly developed by the Jiji Township Office and central government agencies to revitalize local tourism and promote national defense education, becoming a unique attraction combining tourism, recreation, and military culture. The park displays a variety of retired military equipment from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, including F-104 fighter jets, C-119 transport planes, M18, M41, and M48 tanks, howitzers, Nike-Hercules missiles, and amphibious assault vehicles, allowing visitors to feel as if they are in a military battlefield and deeply experience the history and weapon development of the ROC military. The park's distinctive red brick fortress-style architecture has become a popular photo spot, adding to its charm and historical atmosphere. The Military History Park has undergone landscape and environmental improvements and the planning of inclusive playground facilities, adding a children's play area, nest swings, seesaws, and other amenities, making it a recreational space suitable for families. The park has ample parking space and public restrooms, with convenient transportation. It is approximately 800 meters from Jiji Train Station, making it easily accessible by walking or cycling.
