In the spring of the 12th year of Guangxu's reign (1886), the four characters "Huaji Manmo" were inscribed on a giant rock, and later generations repainted them with red lacquer. In addition to the four large characters of the main inscription, the stele also clearly states: "By imperial decree, Chen Fangbo, acting as the Commissioner of Finance and concurrently the Military and Naval Commander of Taiwan and Penghu, pacified the indigenous people and opened up land." The Huaji Manmo Stele and the Kai Pi Hong Huang Stele are both national monuments, serving as evidence of land reclamation during the Qing dynasty. Although it is located in a remote area and can be difficult to find, the scenery along the way is beautiful and suitable for a stroll. Visitors can also take a cultural trip to the Mingxin Academy nearby.
